Have you heard of Global Buckets? I happened upon this link and was really impressed with the idea and how simple it seemed. I was also really impressed that the site was put together by two young boys. I love all their videos, explanations and experiments. If nothing else, spend some time with your kids, just browsing the site.

Since I have a notoriously black thumb, I thought that this form of gardening was one I could actually manage. No weeding required and if I forget to water for a day or two (or three), it won’t matter.

I gathered the necessary ingredients last weekend and we had the boys join us in preparing the buckets. Below are a few photos. Looks fun, right?
